Position Title:             Highway Worker 

Department:                Highway Department 

Supervisor:                  Highway Superintendent

Hours:                         40 hours/week (may be called in after hours for emergency situations)

Union Position:  This position is affiliated with Council 94 and Classified as Grade E. Step 1 starts at $23.05 per hour. Upon successful completion of a six-month probationary period, a step and wage increase are possible. Family benefits eligible.

The Highway Department is seeking individuals to assist in the maintenance of Town and State roads and the maintenance of Town buildings and properties, including beaches, parks and cemeteries. Candidates must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and have a high school diploma or GED.   Applicant must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Must have physical dexterity and be able to work in all weather conditions and be available day or night.
