The Town of New Shoreham and RI DEM have collaborated to dedicate twenty-two (22) auxiliary parking spaces for Island residents with urgent or long-term needs to ensure a parking spot will be available in Point Judith if Lot G may be full. This program is administered by the Town of New Shoreham and all concerns should be directed to the Town.

Eligibility Criteria:

Guidelines:

• 11 spots (2 handicap spots) are allocated for each “long-term” and “emergency” parking.
* In the event there are more applications received that meet criteria, a lottery will be held.
• An Emergency Parking placard can be issued for a maximum of 5 days.
• Placards will be issued for a specific, numbered spot.
• Placards must always be displayed in your vehicle while parked in designated spots.
• Vehicles parked in the wrong spot or without a placard will be subject to towing. If your car is towed, contact: Northup’s Towing (401) 782-4280
• A placard cannot be “loaned” to another.
• Failure to return your placard will result in permanent removal from the program.
