Ceramic 2-day Workshops: Sushi Platter Project with John Warfel2026-04-14T15:00:00In this workshop we will make a sushi platter (approximately 3X8) out of a fritted red clay. We will roll out slabs of clay and using plaster press molds or wood drape molds to construct the body. We will explore different decorating techniques as our pieces dry. We will discuss various options for adding feet to our platters. We will coat the clay with white slip and experiment with creating designs by carving through the slip exposing the dark clay. We can also paint on the white slip or incorporate both methods. When the pieces are dry enough, we will coat the inside with white slip and proceed to decorate our pieces.
