On May 22, 2024 the Town Council enacted a 20% homestead exemption for eligible taxpayers on properties that qualify as of 12/31/23.
Homestead Exemption Instructions & Application as well as the enacted ordinance are attached. Both are also available on the Town’s website www.newshorehamri.gov and in the Assessors’ Office at Town Hall.
Applications are being accepted in the Assessors’ Office at Town Hall (or by mail) through Friday, June 28th for the exemption to apply to the tax bills going out in July 2024. Office hours are Monday-Friday, 9a-3p.
